Role Overview
Your role, Hardware Application Engineer is critical to customer success and product adoption. By enabling reliable system designs and accelerating time-to-market, you directly contribute to revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and continuous product improvement.
As Hardware Application Engineer, you act as the technical bridge between product development, customers, and sales. This role focuses on helping customers successfully design, integrate, and optimize hardware solutions within their applications, while also feeding real-world requirements back into product development.
The Hardware Application Engineer combines strong electronics expertise with a customer-oriented mindset, supporting products from pre-sales evaluation through design-in, validation, and production ramp-up.
You will be part of a dynamic and experienced team that values precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers during the design-in and application development phases
• Analyse customer requirements and recommend optimal hardware solutions, reference designs, and configurations
• Support pre-sales activities, including technical presentations, demos, and proof-of-concept evaluations
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, system-level, and basic firmware issues in customer applications
• Review schematics, layouts, and system architectures to ensure robust, compliant designs
• Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, QA, Product Marketing, Sales) to translate customer feedback into product improvements
• Develop and maintain application notes, reference designs, evaluation guides, and training materials
• Stay current with industry standards, technologies, and competitive solutions to effectively advise customers

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics, power management, signal integrity, and system-level design
• Experience with schematic review, PCB design principles, and lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.)
• Ability to debug complex hardware systems and communicate root-cause analysis clearly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in customer-facing environments
• Comfortable working across multiple disciplines and with geographically distributed teams
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Fluent in Italian and English (B2/C1 level), both written and spoken.
Bonus Points
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles (Applications Engineering, Field Engineering, Technical Support)
• Familiarity with embedded systems, interfaces (SPI, I²C, UART, USB, Ethernet), and basic firmware concepts
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and compliance (EMC, safety, reliability)
• Experience supporting products through full lifecycle: concept, design-in, production, and sustaining
