Functional Electric Enginner

SMS group S.p.A., a company of the German group SMS, a worldwide leading company for plant and machinery manufacturing in the steelmaking and non-ferrous material industry, is looking for a Functional Electric Engineer.

Activities will include:
• Coordination of Electric & Automation supplies for rolling mills and processing lines;
• Sales project engineering support incl. preparation of parts of the technical specification;
• Participation and leading of meetings with Customers, Sub-Suppliers and Consortium Members;
• Managing of technical systems (i.e. fluid systems) considering functions and interfaces with Electric & Automation;
• Management for standalone supply external to SMS, i.e. package units;
• Definition of machinery functional logics together with mechanical dept.;
• Preparation of Basic Engineering Documents (Motor/Component list, electromechanical functional description, safety documents, clarification of motor and sensor types, electrical device location drawings) including harmonization with mechanical, fluid and civil engineering;
• Preparation of the technical documentation for purchasing, selection and interface with suppliers;
• Feedback of gained Knowledge for Sales and Execution;
• Assistance to site during shipment, erection and commissioning phases;

Required Skillset:
• Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering with fundamental knowledge in Power supply, Drives, Motors, Sensors and Automation-Systems;
• Knowledge to read and understand fluid schematics and mechanical engineering drawings;
• Experience in sales and engineering of complex electrical and automation systems;
• English fluent in written and spoken;
• Readiness for worldwide business trips;
• Operational Readiness, assertiveness, negotiation skills and ability to work in a team as well as distinct price and cost consciousness.
