We are looking for a detail-oriented Automotive Content Proofreader & Post-Editor responsible for reviewing, correcting, and post-editing automotive manuals and related technical content. The role primarily involves German-language materials, with additional work in Italian automotive content.
The successful candidate will ensure linguistic accuracy, technical consistency, and clarity while maintaining the original meaning of the content. A good understanding of automotive terminology and strong English comprehension are essential.

Key Responsibilities
Content Proofreading & Post-Editing
Proofread and post-edit automotive manuals and technical documentation in German.
Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting issues.
Improve readability and ensure terminology consistency across documents.
Perform post-editing of machine-translated content to meet publication quality standards.
Terminology & Technical Consistency
Ensure correct usage of automotive terminology and technical vocabulary.
Maintain consistency with existing style guides and glossaries.
Flag unclear or technically incorrect content.
Quality Assurance
Verify that translated or edited content matches the source English meaning.
Check formatting, units, symbols, and structural consistency in manuals.
Collaborate with translation, localization, and technical writing teams.
Required Qualifications
Language Skills
Native or near-native German
Strong English proficiency (reading and comprehension)
Good knowledge of Italian (professional working level)
Technical Knowledge
Basic to intermediate knowledge of automotive systems, terminology, or industry concepts
Skills
Strong proofreading and editing skills
High attention to detail and linguistic accuracy
Ability to work with machine-translated content
Familiarity with translation/localization workflows is an advantage
Preferred Qualifications
Additional languages (e.g., French or other European languages) are a strong plus.
Experience with automotive documentation, repair manuals, or technical content.
Familiarity with CAT tools, QA tools, or terminology management systems.
Background in translation, linguistics, technical writing, or automotive engineering.
